Providing reliable, top-quality dental care in an environment you and your family feel comfortable and safe in remains our primary concern when we provide you any kind of dental procedure.
This is at the core of our commitment to you and starts with our everyday dentistry services like exams, cleanings, and hygiene services. We provide regular cleaning and exams to both adults and children.
Cascade Dental Care’s hygienists provide personalized cleaning care while checking for early signs of gingivitis, decay, and other diseases as well as educating patients about better oral health care.
Both of our North Spokane and South Hill offices are fully equipped with state-of-the-art x-ray equipment to perform both regular dental x-rays as well as Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CT) scans when regular x-rays are insufficient.
A CT X-Ray (or Dental CT Scan) can be used to produce a 3D image of your teeth as well as your bone, nerve pathways, and soft tissue all in a single scan. This type of x-ray is particularly effective to locate impacted teeth and ensure dental implants are placed accurately as well as to evaluate/diagnose issues like temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder and issues with bone structure.
Dental sealants have been shown to make your child’s permanent teeth over 70% more resistant to decay by protecting their teeth with an invisible coating. The resin coating used seals the tooth to reduce cavities, reducing not only future dental costs but also discomfort and pain for your child.
The process itself is painless as the coating is just applied to the outside enamel of the tooth and then hardened using a curing light. Once hardened, a sealant should last for up to 10 years. Cascade Dental Care always examines teeth for signs of decay before using a sealant and will remove and treat the decayed area prior to beginning this procedure.
It’s important to keep in mind that a tooth that has been sealed still needs the exact same dental hygiene as it would if it were unsealed. You should instruct your children to continue to both floss and of course brush every day and continue to bring them to either one of our Spokane offices for regular cleanings. During these visits, the integrity of the sealant will be checked
Do you grind your teeth at night? If you often find yourself waking up with jaw or tooth pain or even headaches, a customized nightguard from Cascade Dental Care might offer you some needed relief. A night guard is a small piece of (typically clear) plastic that securely fits around your teeth.
For those who grind their teeth at night, the long-term effects on dental health can be quite devastating. Preventative care against the damage from the nightly pressure of grinding with a nightguard may be the treatment you need. However, we understand that the idea of wearing a nightguard may not be ideal or even possible for some people and would never recommend this option unless we believed it would truly provide the needed relief.
As parents, ensuring your kids have a healthy relationship with the dentist is an essential part of guaranteeing life-long dental health. Cascade Dental Care wants to do everything we possibly can to help start out your child’s oral health on the best possible foot. That’s why we promise to treat your children just like we’d treat our own every time they are here. We want your family to feel welcome.
Additionally, we promise your child will always see the same dentist when they come in to help make the experience as routine and unalarming as we possibly can. Beyond this, we work with each family to provide specialized care if needed.
Gum disease is caused by the build-up of bacteria above and below the gumline. This bacteria, known as plaque, always forms on our teeth. This is why regular cleanings are essential to prolonged dental health.
As plaque builds up, the gums can begin the process of pulling away from the teeth, creating “pockets” where plaque gets trapped and cannot be removed from the normal process of brushing your teeth at home.
Cascade Dental Care provides scaling and root planning, or a deep cleaning to remove such unreachable plaque from below the gum line. The ADA published a study in 2015 noting that this treatment can benefit anyone suffering from chronic periodontitis (which affects nearly half of the adults in the US over 30).
For patients who have experienced a periodontal disease that has resulted in bone loss, exposed root surfaces, bleeding gums, or other similar conditions, Cascade Dental Care offers periodontal maintenance scaling to help with the maintaining of bone and gum health along with regular cleanings.
This maintenance often includes the cleaning of tartar and plaque from both above and below the gum line. This can include smoothing of rough areas of the roots as well as the irrigation of inflamed pockets and the application of antibacterial medicine when needed.
As Periodontal Maintenance is considered by most insurance carriers to be a “basic service,” it can be performed 3 – 4 times a year depending on several factors including health risk.
